Hello! I am half-Brit half-Yank, and since I grew up in the United States tea has been a way for my mum and I to stay connected to Britain (if that makes sense). My grandmother gave me a china play tea set when I was a child; she gave me a proper china tea set as an adult. I use it less often than I would like as I can't put it in the dishwasher and sometimes I'm in a rush. If I don't drink tea out of the china, I use a hand-thrown pottery mug. I'm kind of particular about my drinking vessels.

I prefer Earl Grey tea, hot. I like the bergamot, it's not just because it's Picard's drink. I have to drink decaffeinated tea, though, which means I don't drink as many varieties as I might like to try. Sometimes I just can't find something in a decaf version. I also attempt to find things in Fair Trade, although I will occasionally make exceptions for things like Yorkshire Gold or Tetley's (other preferred tea brands).

I drink my tea with milk, no sugar. I'm technically lactose intolerant, so usually I use lactaid milk. Sometimes I'll just take a pill and use regular milk, though.

When I'm out and about I usually don't bother getting tea, because it's usually of inferior quality and the water is tepid when they bring it to you.

I'm excited about this community!

I've never had milk in tea before. I was practically raised on chocolate milk so there's some sort of disconnect in my head whenever I think of adding milk. :/a
