I like black teas. Assam. Mixes with black teas like chai, English Breakfast, Earl Grey. At the moment it's a plain old box of PG Tips. I want to like fussing with loose teas but mostly I just get teabags for convenience.
Even though my grandmother is visiting at the moment and tea is slightly stressful at the moment because when I make her tea, I have to super concentrate not to auto-make it the way I like it (which is apparently "wrong" and I get a detailed accounting of how it is wrong; she is mostly awesome just grieving right now and channeling it into minutiea.)
I am a fan of a nice Genmaicha (green tea with toasted brown rice), which is definitely not her cup of tea.
Also my standard cuppa is black tea (either something like Tetley's or Earl Grey), steeped for 4 minutes, with milk (and I don't skimp on milk). I have a fair bit of decaf because too much caffeine and I do not mix well.

Date: 2015-01-14 01:33 am (UTC)I love a good-quality Earl Grey, as well as Darjeelings and Oolongs. I tend to gravitate towards the 'lighter' black teas.
I've become immune to the cafffeine, it seems. I'm still not sure whether that's a good or a bad thing ;)
